AN EVENT AT THE EDGE OF THE SEA

On Saturday, September 13, Thomas of Norway and the Nordland Academy of Arts and Sciences invite you to celebrate the power of dance, when Thomas of Norway - Vesterålen's only professional dance company - celebrates 15 years. The event will be held at Neptun Sildoljefabrikk in Melbu.

In 2010, Basic Movements Dance Company was established by dancer and choreographer Thomas Voll from Øksnes in Vesterålen. Not long after, the company changed name to Thomas of Norway. For 15 years, Thomas of Norway has worked to give difficult topics theatrical expressions. With more than 15 productions in the repertoire, Thomas of Norway has highlighted social taboos, trauma, abuse and stigmatization through dance, with a desire to contribute to increased openness, insight and conversation.

Over the years, Thomas of Norway has performed on regional, national and international stages, and his work has received great critics. Read more about Thomas of Norway's journey through 15 years here.

The anniversary event is free to attend, and includes content between 12:00 to 18:00. Below is the program for the day and practical information. Welcome!
