On Saturday, September 13, Thomas of Norway and Nordland Academy of Arts and Sciences invited you to celebrate the power of dance, when Thomas of Norway - Vesterålen's only professional dance company - celebrated. 15 years. The event was held at Neptun Sildoljefabrikk in Melbu, Vesterålen. A big thank you to everyone who took part in the celebration! 

 

In 2010, Basic Movements Dance Company was established by dancer and choreographer Thomas Voll from Øksnes in Vesterålen. Not long after, the company changed name to Thomas of Norway. For 15 years, Thomas of Norway has worked to give difficult topics theatrical expressions. With more than 15 productions in the repertoire, Thomas of Norway has highlighted social taboos, trauma, abuse and stigmatization through dance, with a desire to contribute to increased openness, insight and conversation.
